How Does A Homeless Man Spend $100?

YouTuber Josh Paler Lin wanted to see what would happen if he gave $100 to a hungry homeless man. How would he spend the money?
To find out, Josh approached a homeless man by a motorway in Los Angeles, and handed him $100, much to the man's surprise. He then proceeded to follow the homeless man in secret with a camera to see how he would spend it.

What he ended up filming shocked him, and it may just change the way you see homelessness.

The homeless man Josh gave the money to, Thomas, has been very down on his luck lately. He quit his job to spend time taking care of his sick parents. Unfortunately, he lost both of his parents in the last couple of months due to cancer and kidney failure.

Additionally, he lost his parents' condo and found himself jobless and homeless on the street. Although he has nothing at this point of life, he still managed to help others when he received something.

Immediatly after releasing this video, Josh was overwhelemd with messages from people wanting to know how they could donate money to Thomas, so the young man set up a campaign on fundraising site IndieGoGo that has already raised over $27,000 in a day.
The #letshelpthomas hashtag has also garnered plenty of momentum on social media.

Churches That Have Found New Purpose In Life. They’ve Been Converted!

Once churches have lived their life to the fullest, they sometimes die. Urban decay and the movement of populations have resulted in a lot of churches standing empty. While some churches just get destroyed and their remains are just rubble, some move on to the great beyond. The afterlife, if you will.

People have been repurposing churches to fit more modern needs and giving the buildings a second life. Some of the ideas are downright brilliant. Take a look.

The Church Brew Works The Gym of St. Jude The Church Nightclub The Entrepreneurs Church Office Building Skaterham Skate Park South River Vineyard Phi Sigma Kappa Frat House at RPI The Michaelhouse Cafe Dawson College Library The Selexyz Dominicanen Bookstore Claire and Marc Bourgie Pavilion Arts Museum Pitcher and Piano Bar Dunkin Donuts Mad River Bar A House The Church Bar Williams Grove Laser Tag Arena

I’d definitely be more compelled to go to church if they had laser tag! Waking up on Sunday morning would be a breeze especially if I got tanked at the same church the night before. Share this post if you would like to hang out at a church… but want to get past all the church-y parts.

What This Doberman Decides To Do On The Slide Just Made My Day.

Taking your dogs to the park and playing with them as part of the family is a joy. After all, only kids and animals are able to embrace their joy and urge to play.

A pair of Dobermans were having fun with their owners when they came across the slide. The first dog knew exactly what to do.

He slid down without any problem. His sister, though, wasn't too sure what to make of this "slide" thing. She stood at the top, contemplating what to do...

Then, she decided just to do what came naturally. It was hilarious:

No dog or human was hurt during the filming of this video. Next time, though, only Gogo will play on the slide. His sister can stay on the ground with her feet firmly planted. OOPS.

Incredibly Creative Photographer Finds A Way To Make Our World Look Alien.

New technology that’s being developed every day allows artists to continually think outside of the box. New options for expression are being created for them to use. Take, for example, infrared photography.

The range of color in the infrared spectrum is different from what we see (the visible spectrum). Thanks to some lenses and camera technology, photographers can “see” what is in the infrared range… and create some simply stunning pictures. The resulting photographs of Earth look like alien planets.

A German self-taught photographer, Christian Kern, delights in taking infrared photos. His work is just stunning.

In infrared photography, the film or image sensor used is sensitive to infrared light. This causes the photos to see only the infrared range of color. The result? A stunning, almost-alien, picture. Christian was inspired by other photos he saw online. He fell in the style and was determined to teach himself. In his first attempts, he used a Hoya R72 filter in front of a Nikon D70. Most of his photos focus on trees and dark skies... But some of the most stunning images involve long expanses of fields as well. It seems almost impossible that this is Earth. What a beautiful new style.

According to Christian, this self-taught infrared photographer:

“I started my infrared photography after I saw an infrared lonely tree on deviantART. It was such a wonderful, magical image and I didn’t know what it was or how to create such amazing photography so I searched on Google and found some tutorials and tips.”

Neighbors Kept Getting Items Stolen Until They Caught The Weird Culprit: A Cat.

Residents in a neighborhood of San Mateo, California, were uneasy. Items kept going missing from their homes without any reasonable explanation. Was there a thief in their midsts? Or worse, a sticky-finger poltergeist?

The residents and local authorities were eager to put an end to all of the robberies, so cameras were set up throughout the neighborhood. They were determined to catch the cat burglar, whoever it was.

Or whatever it was.

As it turns out, the cameras DID catch the culprit in the act. But it wasn't a human. This was a literal cat burglar. He was busy at work all through the night, trotting out to steal various items. His name is Dusty. His owners, Jim Coleman and Jean Chu, knew he brought some miscellaneous items home. In fact, they have piles and piles of his "presents." They just didn't realize the 600+ items were from their neighbors' homes.

In just one evening, Dusty visited 11 homes and brought home gifts to his owners. You have to see this cat burglar in action yourself:

Dusty was just doing what came natural to all cats. At night, he let his predatory instincts take over. Instead of bringing home mice and birds, though, he found easier prey. This kitty REALLY loves his mommy and daddy. Share his sweet (but thieving) antics with others by clicking on the button below.

There’s A Mermaid Academy In The Philippines That Fulfills Your Disney Dreams.

Fans of The Little Mermaid won’t have to look for Ursula to help them transform into their favorite sea sirens. At the Philippine Mermaid Swimming Academy, you can finally learn why it’s hotter under the water.

With locations in Metro Manila, Cebu City and Boracay Island, adults and children alike can take a dip in a rented tail and learn all the basics of mermaid swimming, or “mermaiding” as they call it.

Their website explains, "PMSA is the first in the Philippines and in the world to introduce a 'school' concept for mermaid swimming." They aim to make "mermaiding" accessible to everyone regardless of age or gender. Classed start at around $40 for 2 hour sessions. Programs are structured in safe and fun environments. Little mergirls and merboys are always under careful supervision. The website claims kids take to it like, well, a fish to water! As you progress through the lessons, you can graduate to "modern mermaiding," and interact with some fishy friends!

Isn’t that neat? I want to be part of that world!
